This original play presents the poignant story of the "missing" two years in the life of the Ingalls family - the only substantial period that Laura chose not to write about in her Little House books. Told with period songs, humor and depth of character, A Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas tells a story of healing that celebrates the importance of enduring family bonds.
This delightful musical is set against the dramatic background of an idyllic south pacific island during WWII. Nellie, a spunky nurse form Arkansas, falls in love with Emile, a French plantation owner on the island who has tow children fro his late Polynesian wife.
Felix Ungar, a neurotic, neat freak newswriter (a photographer in the television series), is thrown out by his wife, and moves in with his friend Oscar Madison, a slovenly sportswriter.
Despite Oscar's problems – careless spending, excessive gambling, a poorly kept house filled with spoiled food – he seems to enjoy life. Felix, however, seems utterly incapable of enjoying anything and only finds purpose in pointing out his own and other people's mistakes and foibles.
